THE SWAP THREAD "FEBRUARY"

I thought you said it was a secret trade. Just wondered why some were contacting the person they sent eggs to and how they knew that person's screen name. I only know the person's real name and where they live. But I thought they were not suppose to know who sent them eggs. I guess everyone can do as they please but I like the element of surprise.

Guys, this was supposed to be a secret trade.

Unfortunately, I cannot control everyone at all times. I did not pass out screen names, only real names, addresses, and phone #'s.

If people have contacted the people they are sending eggs to, again, I have no control over that.

It's very clear to me that many of you did not read the "rules of engagement" posting in it's entirety.

Now, that being said, lets all just be happy, send out our eggs, and incubate them to the best of our ability.

This is one of the concerns about swaps-can't please everyone, and some people are bound to get upset about something or other.

I really think this has the potential to be something special, and a repeating event, but not if we can't all get along.

I don't have a problem with anyone else doing whatever they want. I was just trying to make sure I understood correctly. I hope that everyone has a great hatch. I will be sending out my eggs on Saturday!!!! I can't wait to see what I get.

This is hopefully only the first in a long line of swaps.

Jab, you are not the only person that contacted who they are sending eggs to, I was not singling you out in any way.

My point is, even under the best circumstances, sometimes things don't work out exaclty the way we plan. That's something we all need to realize and deal with.

That's one reason why everyone should read the rules post and be on the same page with everything. There will always be exceptions of course, and we will deal with those accordingly.

As this was the first swap, we really didn't enforce the rules, as we are still feeling our way. As evidenced by the two individuals that have still not provided addresses. That right there tells me not everyone read the rules page.

This was a challenge for me to organize, and took up a good portion of time and effort. Which I was glad to give, I just need everyone to realize that it's not an instant process and we need everyone's cooperation.

I hope that we will have as many people for the next swap that RepoBob will be organizing.

i do not know and don't want to know who i send the eggs to or who sends me eggs . this is just a way of sharing what we have with other like minded folks out there. I am just happy to be able to do this . lets all just have some fun.

Hi everybody,

This has been a learning experience for all of us, and there are gonna be some bumps along the way. I know one thing for sure... everyones gonna have a smile on their face when they get there eggs, and another when they hatch.

When we first started discussing how to get this going. Kelli (KSAcres) volunteered to take care of the first one all by herself, she knew that it was gonna be the hardest because of the bumps in the learning curve. But she did it anyway. I offered my assistance, but she persevered. Even when real life threw her a curve she still came through. Just wanted everyone to know how much she did, and to express my personal thanks. She's got everything laid out for me next month so it will be much easier.

Thank You Kelli

I will be sending my eggs out either Sat. or on Monday. I was planning on sending my eggs out today, but my hens decided not to lay until really late today and by the time I would have packed/boxed them all the post office was closed.

I will admit I did contact my person, to see if they wanted eggs left at post office or not, but the phone # that was given, they told me there was noone there by that name. So am kind of glad in a way I did call. I am a little worried now that when I go to ship the eggs my person won't get there eggs.

Just a suggestion for future swap and the person that will be heading them. Once you get all information before sending that info out you might want to confirm w/ each person their info is correct? Kellie you did a great job and am not criticizing you in any manner. It's just a suggestion for future swaps, since this is the first one.

Kellie, I know I pm'd you w/ the concern above. Have you contacted the person I am to send my eggs too? If so can you confirm the phone # that was given w/ the address to send to is correct. I won't call the person again, but would like confirmation as I'd hate for the eggs to go to the wrong person.

Thanks
