The Trouble With Chickens: A True Story

Glad you found them! I just envision mine flying out over the fence and running down our street...or happening by a dog....so now they are "grounded." Safety first!
 
I do have a fairly busy road to the front of my house and chickens tend to stay to the back of the property which is flanked by the Fairgrounds and one neighbor. Hopefully I can nip this roaming in the bud before it gets too bad!

do you know how to stop it? I went to Bible study earlier & mmy friend said, I drove past your house & almost hit a chicken. She was pretty close to the road." I said, "must have been Gladys. She always wanders up by the road."

I just scare them when they go too far, loud noises and such. I also try to give them treats frequently when I'm home. I fed them in the coop this morning and waited an hour before letting them out. Jack (roo) didn't wander off today and every time I peaked out on him he was with the hens keeping watch. I hope I have a good roo for my girls.
