If asparagus is slimy, mushy and stringy, it's probably been boiled to death or, worse, canned. I like tossing it in a little olive oil, salt and pepper, and searing it on a hot skillet till crispy. Extra nice if you sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese over it and finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice and a touch of lemon zest.

Maan now my mouth is watering! :drool
