First time chicken owner. These girls (guys?) are about 19ish weeks old. No eggs and no squatting yet. Bought at about 8 weeks as “copper marans and Americanas”. Black one is and always has been the top bird, white one loves to try to challenge that. I was thinking the reddening in their combs was them getting closer to laying. Last week, the white one decided to make noises like crowing in the morning before I let them out to their food. Neither one has ever shown any sort of mating behavior. Can a hen be ahead of a cock in the pecking order? Are they pullets or cockerels and what kind are they (meaning what color eggs might I get if they’re pullets?) The little copper/black one in the last pic is about 14 weeks and it’s comb makes me think possibly cockerel too? All of them were sexed as pullets when we got them.

Three cockerels

All 3 birds shown are male. Sorry. If they were sexed pullets, you may be able to get your money back from the hatchery. Hope you can find good homes for them if you can not keep them.
