*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

"We could run away, leaving a note that we'll be back when they change the rule!" Adrienne exclaimed.
-----
"But what if Jenel's in trouble?" Gavin asked "Who's there that'll back her up?"
Linnet listened intently. She hoped Gwen wasn't taking any of this info seriously.
--
Katrina paced the small cabin. "Well, she as her "husband" Redd to help her out. He works for the king of Edinburgh, so he'll do as they say," she said.
---
Edmund tied up the sack. He had everything necessary for tonight. He hoped Gwen was prepared.

"She's counting on an ASSASIN to help her!?" Gavin exclaimed "We're doomed" He whispered "The fate of the future queen is in the hands of Redd the assassin. We're all doomed..."

Katrina rolled her eyes. "She taint gonna be the queen, because Prince Edwin is the heir, cause he's a male," she said. "The throne goes to the eldest girl unless a son be born, and there be one. So the fate of the kingdom is safe in capable Prince Edwin's hands," she explained.
---
Edwin went to the window. "You know, by refusing to answer directly, you're answering," he said smartly.

"Oh" Gavin frowned "So why does anyone care who she marries if they're not trying to pick a king or anything? Is this Edwin guy nice? Should i stop asking questions?"

Katrina chuckled. "No, you be fine. From what I've picked up, Kings and queens must find the perfect Prince, princess, duke, lady, etc to marry their children. They usually figure it out in a way that gives them a political advantage, or such. That be why Prince Edwin is to marry Princess Gwen. To make peace between the two kingdoms. Did ye know, long ago, Queen Mariah was betrothed to the King of Alnwick In order to make peace?"
---
Fawn whistled to herself. She pinched herself when she realized her thoughts had wandered to Redd.
---
Richard saw the king's door ajar. He heard Adrienne whining to her daddy for something.

"I didn't know that" Gavin frowned "So why can't everyone just get along and be happy? And what about the normal not at all royal people? Do they get to choose?"
---
"And that's why I've come to this decision!" Adrienne finished off with a flourish "Your royal highness daddy sir must look into it, or I shall cease from my duties!"

Katrina raised an eyebrow. She went to the window. "Really, it all comes down to the king–and occasionally the queen's–decisions. I rarely see them for me self, as when I'm not elping the princesses I've got laundry duties. An I hardly see the prince either, he in't part of me duties. That's another person's job," she explained. "The head laundress be a mean one," she muttered to herself.
---
Richard found himself in the hallway listening to the conversation between Adrienne and her Pop. He couldn't figure out what they were discussing exactly
