*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

"Why are you laughing?!" Gwen asked. "Why would they choose me over a tall hans-er smart man?" A deep blush crept into her cheeks. She hoped he hadn't noticed.

Edmund chuckled, but didn't reply. He slowed his exhausted horse. "We should be there soon. We, and our horses, surely have worked enough today," he said instead.

Fawn's horse was foaming at the bit, but she couldn't afford to stop now. She glanced back to see if Richard had caught up, but thankfully he wasn't in sight.

Edwin (where. Was. He. Last?? :idunno)

Linnet sealed the letter with wax. "Peter, will you give this to the king of Edinburgh?" She asked (Crazychick)

Gwen sighed in relief. "Oh good. I'm not complaining, but this rode has been very tiresome."

Peter nodded. "Of course My Dear."

Edmund held up his hand and stopped. "Did you hear that?" He whispered

Fawn stopped her horse. They had heard her. She backed her horse into the shadows.

Linnet smiled. "I hope he gives his consent," she said.

Mariah dismissed the servant with a wave of her hand. "Remember, immediately!" She said as he left.

"Very well then" Gavin smiled.

Adrinne pulled her exhausted pony up beside Richard "Wait up, my royal pony is tired" She panted.

Katrina thrust the basket into Gavin's hands, then skipped down to the edge of a stream where several bushes were. "Gavin, you've lived in the woods near all yer life. Do these look edible to ye?" She asked

Richard stopped his horse. He looked down at the girl and pony, whose sides where soaked in sweat(The pony not Adrienne). "Fine. We can rest for a quick minute," he said irritably.

Gavin inspected one "I've eaten white a few of these, and I'm still here" He laughed "I dunno if you're supposed to eat them, but you can"

Adrienne stroked Calder "Good, I can feed Calder while we rest" She pulled a corn cake from her saddlebag.

"Very well then, let's start picking," Katrina replied. She figured Gavin still being alive was proof enough that the berries weren't poisonous.

Richard rolled his eyes, his back to the princess. He dismounted and went to a stream to fill his canteen (almost rhymes. Not quite ) He didn't know nor cared what happened to Fawn, but he was slightly worried what she was up to. He was oblivious to the rider following them (Redd, right?)

Gwen stopped. "What do you mean?"
"Sounds like we're being followed. By a horse and rider," he replied in a whisper. "Come, all the more reason to get to that cottage," he said.

Fawn smirked. She leaned her head on the horse's neck and stroked it softly.
---
Linnet stopped in the doorway. "Have a safe ride back, Peter," she said.
