*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

"Oh, yes, of course," Edwin said as he pulled out a peice of raw meat from a pouch. "Would you like to give it to her, or would you rather I do it?" He asked.
--
Linnet finally made it to the castle. Richard had already put his horse away in the stable. She sighed with irritation as Richard quickly stepped in line behind her.

"I'll do it." She gently took the meat from Edwin, and held it out for the large bird.

Edwin grinned to himself as he watched Alena feed the falcon. Saxum soon appeared in the sky, holding a large pheasant in his talons. Edwin held his arm out.
--
Linnet went up to her room to clean up before going to the queen. She hung her cloak in the wardrobe, then quickly changed her kirtle for a fancy red one. She redid her braid, then hurried out of the room.

The bird quickly swallowed the meat, and launched off again. "How do you train them to do that?"

"Train them to hunt for us? It's a complicated and expensive business, so not many people have the means or money to do it. The Falcons and Hawks get taken as young birds, so they'll be easier to train. The falconer handles them constantly, so they'll be used to humans. You always fly the bird hungry, that way it will want to return to you, and you must always reward them if they bring you something. The falconer could tell you in better detail and give you more facts," Edwin explained as he took the pheasant from Saxum and put it in his bag.

"Oh. That sounds hard." She laughed. "I think Ill just stick to sewing and cleaning." Quietly she said. "Its not like I have much of a choice anyway."

(Aw poor Alena! :()

"Yes, it is indeed very hard," Edwin agreed with Alena. "Would you like to continue hawking, or return to the castle?" He asked her, having completely forgotten about Peter.

Linnet hurried through the castle. As she was running through a hall, she ran into Maud.
"My dear, you look flushed!" Maud exclaimed. "What is your hurry?" She asked.

"Sir Richard told me that I was wanted by Her Highness," Linnet explained.

"Yes, the queen has some things to discuss with you," Maud replied.
--
After some more chit chat, Linnet hurried on to the queen's chambers.
