*The Verge of War* A Medieval Rp

Alfric's eyes darted anxiously across the room.
"I haven't the mask any longer. And what would I do without proper dress?"
He looked the man over and coughed loudly, his chest rattling.
He was supposed to be at home in Edinburgh. Sneaking away was bad enough, stealing a mask and a horse, and losing both only added to his anxiety.
"Why aren't you there?" He asked finally, breaking the silence that fell between them.

Pulling a ripe apple from the grass India crunched into it, it burst in her mouth, the sweet juices dripping down onto the ground. She followed the girl with her eyes as she walked away, and quietly as a horse a quarter her size, she trotted along behind her. When she got close enough she stuck out her lip and nuzzled the girls hair into a tangle.
Emilee squealed and spun around, pointing her hand threateningly at the beast. Her eyes widened and she stepped back when she realized what had touched her. She slowly reached her hand out to the horse.

India pressed her nose against Emilees' hand and nipped gently at her fingers, searching for an apple. Disappointed, she snorted loudly and pushed at the girls shoulder with her head.

"I was on patrol when I saw that girl and you"

Testing the ground with the handle end of her halberd, Herja continued following the torn soil left by the warhorse. The horse wasn't far. The tracks were fresh. Suddenly, a round, firm object smacked her face. Batting it aside, it seemed very familiar. She stopped, plucking the firm globe, then gave it a careful sniff. An apple! Sweet, juicy, perfectly ripe... the odds seemed unreal, but, looking further ahead, she could just make out more apples, and more apple trees. She fell to, and ate the whole thing, core and all.

Emilee quickly pulled an apple from her apron pocket and offered it to India.

( Herja is no girl. She's 27, and a monster of a woman. Hahaha! She hardly even looks feminine, poor thing. She can crush a skull with her thighs.)

Redd took the princess's hand in his and led her to the thick of the dancing couples. He twirled her once, then bowed. He felt so pleased, having, hopefully, completed his first task in months. He felt sure that Queen Mariah would be pleased and would pay what she had offered him, plus more.

Jane looked Peter in the eye as they danced. She felt like she was on a cloud as they danced, yet his lagging feet seemed to drag her down. Dancing was probably not on his list of priorities.

Edmund with Mariah, in the center of the room as the owner of the castle should be, waltzed perfectly with the music. Mariah was rather surprised with how well he kept time.

Fawn tapped her foot in time to the slowing music as she neared the entrance. She was indecisive if she wanted to put herself out in order to find a partner. Nearing the herald, she turned on her heel and walked towards the tables.

Linnet kept a smile on her face as she danced with Richard, but inwardly she was groaning. She wanted to be free of this man and go find Peter, but it would be inconsiderate to quit now. As the danced slowed to a halt, Richard bowed and escorted her to the edge of the room in a perfectly gentleman like manner.
. "Here, drink some water," Edwin offered, holding the glass up to Alena. There were so many questions on his mind he wanted to ask, but not yet. Not until Alena gained her strength back.

A smile spread across her face when Emilee spotted the pony. She sped up her step in order to reach the pony as Daisy lumbered on. Daisy sensed someone behind her, but didn't care at the moment. The figure on the rock suggested a boy, perhaps the nice one who had given her feed a few times recently. As she neared Alfric, Daisy sniffed and put her lip out.
Emilee broke into a jog. She slowed down as a lone figure in the water came into view.

Gwen blushed shyly. "Am I allowed to know who I am accompanying in the first dance?"

Peter tried his best, and only managed to step on Jane's toes a time or two. He spun her quickly around as the first dance ended. Breathing heavily, he offered her his arm. "Would you care for a drink?" He asked politely.

Alena took the glass and drank deeply. "The ball?" She wheezed after a few long moments.
