We know our origianl color, it was in the article when the house was completed in 1876, but I don't want white with green shutters. The historic society doesn't care, so I'm going to have a pretty house now. LOLPersonally I prefer E, but if you're truly "restoring" it you might want to do what they did when restoring Abraham Lincoln's home in Springfield, Illinois.
They took one of the old, original siding pieces and sanded it down to the original paint. They discovered that they had been painting it the wrong color for many years.
