Update:
I have a staggered hatch going, my first half are at day 19 today and the other half is at day 17 today...

I'm starting to think that only 2 of the first half are going to hatch... Really worried about the second half.

btw - I am one of "those" guys that made their own incubator from a $9 thermostat at Lowes and an old ice chest with a 60W light bulb... so yes - I might have done better if I had spent some extra $$ on a little better thermostat. I have now learned MY lesson and Im off to share with others

This style of incubator worked great for ducks and chickens but I think the temperature fluctuation was too much for the tiny quail eggs...
