I have everything ready, turned on the light so it would be toasty warm, woke up extra early so I would be ready when the call came from the post office. Then, no call came. So I called them. Nope, no goslings.

So I went and checked my order to make sure of the date and realized I had missed the part where today was the earliest delivery date with Friday the latest. Which is understandable I guess since they can't guarantee exactly which day the babies will hatch.

Now I'm back to waiting.

And just for the record, I think babies should always hatch on the first possible day darn it, lol. Of course, when I had dairy goats I always thought baby goats should arrive exactly on time too. They rarely ever paid attention even though I'm sure they could here my clear instructions through their mamma's bellies.

I know, Mother Nature is an amazing woman but has no manners at all, keeps us all waiting, worries us sick and turns us into mad people!!

So very true!

It does say when I go to McMurray's site that they have shipped. I'm assuming that since yesterday was Memorial Day that they went out today and since it's standard shipping, then it will likely be Thursday before the arrive. *sigh* Now it's not Mother Nature's fault. Now its the fault of the mail people for not putting my goslings on a Concord and landing it on the highway a couple of miles away so I could have them today.

And next week I get to wait all over again for my newest order of chicks to arrive.

I have never hatched geese but I have some. A friend gave me two eggs before she left to go back home for summer. One busted through the shell yesterday around 3pm. This morning around 9 am I could see the baby goose. Big opening but he isn't coming out.the inner sack is around him. I saw his little webbed foot on top of his head. Do I wait or pull him out? He is loudly chirping.

Loudly churping is good. Dampen the membrane and have a look at the membrane to see if there are any red blood vessels in it. There probably are still. If there are no red blood vessels, that means he´s pretty well ready. also, if the membrane is getting a bit brownish, that´s another sign he´s ready. Don´t just pull him out, because if he´s not quite ready, for instance, if he´s not quite absorbed his yolk, you could lose him.. You need to be patient with goslings. You could put a damp cloth laid out in the incubator to give off moisture to help him. Sounds like he´ll be out soon.

Yes there are still red blood vessels. He or she is very visible. There's a huge hole in egg. Can see it. Thanks for answering.
