The Waltons or Little House On The Prairie?

Little house on the prairie, that's probably where I got my dream for my farm life! When I was younger I used to go stay at the cabin my mom was born in, no running water, no electricity, we used to wash our hair at the lake down the road, or with water my aunt heated on the wood stove. Learning to cook on a wood stove, it was so cool. I really loved it, and it made me appriciate the modern conviences all the more.
I am 47 now, and I still love to cook on a wood stove.
my dream was to have a farm with animals and chickens running all around free.
I have that now so I guess I am living my dream.

I have always lived in the country as much as I can, and the times me and DH went on weekend getaways we always went to "the country", LOL It's like horsey people like me who have horses , when we see horses out the car window we yell "Look, its a horse!"

Little house all the way! Notice this thread made it to page 8 without fighting? That's Little House morals for you!

We have all the books, cooked the food, even done the Prairie Primer, which is Homeschool material geared around the books...My kids dress like them, down to the bonett and the pinafore...My husband says they should make Little House Legos...

My grandmother used to say the same thing. The last television show she ever watched was the Waltons. As I left her hospital room she said, "Babe, turn the TV to channel 11 so I can watch the Walton's before I go to sleep." She died later that evening.

The Waltons didn't have pigs, but in a few episodes, a neighbor who played with Elizabeth was raising a pig for the Jefferson County fair.
