I am new and have lots of chicks!! 120 !!! I bought all breeds and even some fertile eggs I am on day 19 of first hatch and going NUTS! (ahem!)

About me... My family left the big city for the county 8 months ago and never looked back. We have chickens, 6 goats and even a new calf next week.

I do not know WHY I love chickens, I just love to watch them they are so relaxing. Speak of Chicken TV.... We just turned off our cable and will save $120 a month! Chickens are better anyway.

I am very concerned with the economy.... the chicken "shortage" in most commercial hatcheries tell me that lots of other people are just as concerned.

Most important is that I am providing eggs/meat (and a garden) to provide food for my family/cut down our grocery bills is very imprortant to me. Living a more simple life and more meaniful is the best I think so far..... I work at home and my job allows me to be at home all the time. I am a very blessed person.

Wow, do I hear that. I have a 12 year old that eats sleeps and thinks poultry. She hasn't stopped at her chickens she has ducks and this year added pigeons.... Thank goodness our Sportman incubator is full, and no we are not buying another one right now

She will (well, me too) sit for hours and just watch them do crazy stuff. Nothing like watching a hatchling walk and eat for the first time

OK, I'm addicted too....
