The weak, small, hurt winning our hearts!

Why is it that, those that are weak, hurt or runts always steal our hearts?? I have a tiny little BO pullet. She is 21 weeks old, she hasn't grown since we got her 3 1/2 weeks ago. She is half the size of her sisters! She eats, drinks and poos---just like the others BUT I KNOW she is getting weaker!

She has stolen my heart! She comes and sits with me and lets me cuddle her --while the others run from me, She eats out of my hand, She follows me when I am in the coop. I make sure she gets extra treats (yogurt, cottage cheese and tiny pcs of grass), she eats from the feeder and even pecks at the girls if they get too close to her food.. She waits for me to put her onto the roost.... Today, I noticed that when the other girls crowded around her, she fell over. For two weeks now, each visit to the coop, I expect to find her lifeless...but she ventures out to greet me...and it makes me happy to hear her coo and sad, that I, understands that she is 'not long for this world'!

I have checked her for mites, worms, egg bound, I have given them ACV in their water and have tried almost anything I have read, been told or thought of......to bring her out of her state!!!

I know there is no real answer to my question but I just needed to say it to someone who understands..that she is not just an ol' chicken...Dixie

I have a little Salmon Faverolle pullet and a little Ancona pullet that I feel the same way about.

You said you checked them for worms...how did you do that? Have you given them wormer? Have you treated her for cocci?

does she have a crop impaction?

Wormed, yes! Cocci, no.. I'll do that in the am...Thank you... her crop seems fine..being new to chickens--I just compare to the other chickens..
