WooHoo! I traded for quail eggs back around Christmas and most of them were clear (they got bonked in shipping) --- but I had 5 growing wigglers when I candled around Day 7.
I went in to do all the turnings in the bators that need it this evening and BeDang and BeDurn...
...I heard the 'wheep-wheep-wheep' of quail hatchlings. Such a sweet sound!
Yaay! Got 2 new Coturnix and 3 new Buttons. Thanks Kelly!
They are darlings!

I loved those sounds, too...until they hit 4 or 5 weeks old, and then we had to move them outside in self-defense just because of the NOISE!

Here are the newest little spazzes:

3 Buttons and 2 Cooties (How does one pronounce 'Coturnix'?)

I'd forgotten how spastic and tiny Buttons are. Thanks again, Kelly! I might have to order more Cootie eggs when you have some available.

We love the sound of the Buttons boys calling --- it sounds jungle-ish. I only have girls now and they are pretty quiet.
