ok so, long story short my dad found this little fella at the boat ramp when he was fishing. there were no adult birds anywhere to be seen, or any other humans, but it was clear from the get-go this young bird is used to people as it came right up to my dad, and followed him around. The Gosling went so far as to swim after him when he put his kayak into the water and followed him for a good 3-4 hours, so he ended up bringing the gosling to us. but we have no idea what breed we have on our hands.... pictures haven't been overly helpful as he(she?) resembles several that I have seen... any help identifying would be appreciated

My guess is it was hatched by someone who then decided it was to much to take care of and they abandoned them, hence the lack of fear of humans. “If it’s a Canada goose.”
It could be a Canada goose, though something about the top of the bill reminds me of a Chinese or African so it could be an abandoned domestic gosling.

In the meantime while you’re looking for a rehabber to identify if it’s a Canada baby or not you could get a small bag of Purina flock raiser or some other kind of all flock start to keep them healthy.
