Probably silly questions, but do we every really learn what exactly a Witcher is? Like I know they're mutants, but other than that, I've either missed something or confused.

And why his eyes change colors? I've seen them normal, gold and black but can't seem to find much correlation

You will find out. His eyes turn black when he drinks his "witcher elixir" and goes full "witcher mode" as me and Dawg like to call it. The potions he drinks heighten his senses. When his eyes turn black, that's his pupils widening to allow him to see even in the darkest area.

Okay. I thought first it was during fight mode, but then kept seeing Gold instead of black
