Glad you are having a fun time. Enjoy it's fun here!! Mike

Nancy, we started with 100 rarest of the rare chicks from Mcmurray last April 08, we kept the Sumatras, and the SP and BLR wyandottes that was all! The year before we had gotten partridge Chanties and Cuckoo marans as started birds and we decided to let the hatchery choose our next ones! It was fun figuring out what they were all turning into! Enjoy this time it's exciting!

I'm just loving all the wyandotte pics on here. Some really beautiful birds! And such variety in colors and lacing!! I see I have a couple new books I have to pick up too! Thanks!

I really love my wyandottes and seeing as this is the 'official' thread I'd better post! Mine are still laying extremely well and nice sized eggs too. I don't add any extra light for them and its been very cold here! -30* below Sat nite! Set a new record!! So I'm really pleased with how hardy they're turning out to be! Here's some of mine from last fall don't have any new pics:

photography and chickens are great subjects.
Thanks for looking!!!

GRRR .... I HATE shipped eggs! I just candled my 16 BLRW eggs, and I have ONE developing embryo! I am SOOOOOOOO disappointed! These were off ebay, so lord knows if I'm even going to hear anything from her...it's not her fault, of the 16, there was only 1 scrambled, it was a beautiful packing job. I've just been burned off shipped eggs so many times, and I keep hearing people all over BYC rave about their hatches off shipped eggs...sorry, I just had to vent...the parent stock on these guys is absolutely GORGEOUS, I wanted them SOOOOO bad!!!

JanieMarie very nice. MaggieRae also very nice pics. One color I have never seen in person the LF Partridge and don't know if anyone even raises these. I know that they are sold in hatcheries and may have to get some one day.Maggie I also have three young columbian hens that just started laying in the last couple of weeks. Flying Monkey is there some way to get Partridge from just simple matings of other colors? Thanks Mike

How far did they ship from? I was thinking about shipped eggs but the temps scare me. I know where I live it doesn't take long and I would think fertility goes down. It's below zero again this morn. Mike
