The Wyandotte Thread

Gorgeous birds, Rare Feathers Farm! I breed black bantam Wyandottes as well. I'm taking my male to a show this weekend (his first one ever) to see if he's worth breeding. I'm also getting a patridge Wyandotte bantam male. Good luck finding a silver laced!

Hey everyone! Just poppin' in....

I breed bantam Wyandottes in:

Black

Blue Laced Red

Chocolate

Dun Laced

Golden Laced

I show all of my breeders and I sell hatching eggs. :)

I'm looking for a decent Silver Laced BANTAM cockerel or rooster (9months to 3 years of age). Non-hatchery, good type, decent comb, yellow legs, great lacing with no mossy-ness or brassiness. If possible.

PM sent!!

Just received 12+ Partridge Wyandotte hatching eggs in the mail. I ordered LF, but the eggs look smallish to me. Closer in size to my Buff Orpington's eggs than my BLRW's. Is that normal? What is the standard egg size for a LF Partridge Wyandotte? Is it smaller than the BLRW? Could young hens account for small size? Just hoping I didn't get bantam eggs by mistake.

Is there any way to tell? (I'll be incubating them regardless and will know either way in a couple of weeks, but the mystery is killing me.)

My SLW eggs are smaller than my BLRW. I don't have partridge so I cant really help, but pullet eggs will be smaller for sure.

I agree girls in there first laying cycle will always lay smaller but that should not affect fertility as long as the roo is covering the flock well . A two year old roo will not waste a day when the pullets are ready he will go to work at or around 14 - 15 weeks

I feel sorry for my BLRW girls then. All in their first laying cycle and they lay as big as my hatchery SLWs...

Our partridge are as big, if not bigger than our BLR eggs. I'd call and check your order.
