I have to admit that Silver Pencilled x is an attractive bird. Get them to breed true you might have something.
I wouldn't know where to begin.

Quote: x2 She is interesting to say the least. I don't really do banties.... I do have a few silkies for the first time but I would take one like her over silkies.
Pencilled are so cool lookingIt has been a while since I have posted anything on this thread but I thought I would let yall see some photos of the Silver Penciled Bantams we have culled down to this season. I have been raising this line of SP for 18 years now and they are still in the midst of recovery from being down to just 2 birds a few years ago. With the help of my own personal incubation guru, we hatched close to 150 birds this year. We have culled down to around 25 at the moment. They still have a long way to go to call them good Wyandotte bantams but I am very pleased with the progress that we have made and look forward to the improvement that this upcoming breeding season will bring. I know they have faults and am fully aware of them. All of these birds are this years hatch. Two young cockerels and a Dun Penciled Cockerel. The color of the two SP males is very clean but they lack the type that the Dun SP exhibits.
Young pullets. There is a good amount of variation within these females with some exhibiting male line or female line breeding traits.
Male line pullet with very good type.
Young pullet with a White Laced Red pullet looking on.
A nicely penciled young pullet.
Youngest cockerel but may finish out the best of all we have raised in terms of type and color. LF Wyandottes in the background looking on.![]()
The young cockerels in the first photos may fill out as nicely as the Dun...give them time. Nice color too The pullets in both male and female lines have lovely type and tails. I like the young male in the last photo. And of course, I enjoyed seeing the LF Columbians in the backgroundIt has been a while since I have posted anything on this thread but I thought I would let yall see some photos of the Silver Penciled Bantams we have culled down to this season.
