You are right. Type is the most important thing. I was just trying to determine what I actually received. I know what I ordered, and it was from a supposedly very good source. It will be a while before it is determined how dark the "red" really is. Thanks for the help.
 
I'm so excited. I have a shipment of bantam wyandotte eggs coming in this week. Fingers crossed they make it here safely. It is 24 eggs with:
BLRW from Ruth Bloch and some hens from Jen Cadwell
Black Wyandottes from Mike Sayre
Blues bred to Black from Mike Sayre
Gold Laced from Dan Jerome
Partridge from Foley
Silver Penciled
