Paul and Foley are no longer selling chicks so they can focus on showing their birds. Foley might sell next year but I have no idea. Paul it sounds like will not sell chicks for a few years or never will. There is a wyandotte breeder directory for 2013 you can look at. It has dozens of breeders you can contact that have good stock.

I didn't get the impression Foley was going to sell chicks anymore. It is just a lot of work to hatch that many chicks and ship them.

Oh NO I had my heart set on getting some of the Paul stock. Who has any that are of that quality and type that I could order from? I was about to use a hatchery and my old college roommate who is very active on the show circuit warned me in time. Now I have seen pics of some birds that came from hatcheries and lets just say if I ordered some that turned out that narrow and off type I would have been madder than a wet hen with a pasty vent. LOL

When I had talked to him he was still pretty indecisive. But I agree I don't think he will sell chicks anymore.

They maybe laying small eggs because they are pullets and are still getting used to things. Do you know their age?

Not really sure. They didn't know. Bought them at a flee market and the guy gets them from the local auction. All I know is one was laying right away and the other hasn't yet. And I know they sisters. Because that's the way the auction sells them.

Question: I keep checking for fertility in my 2 Wyandotte girls 10 months old around Valentines Day (the 2 W roo's are the same age) & they don't look fertile yet to me. How long does it take Wyandotte's to get going? They are being bred all the time but I don't think the times I've watched that those 2 boys have figured out the "right area" ,lol. Also how long after pullets start laying do their eggs finally get the size they'll end up being & I think I read where you shouldn't use pullet eggs for hatching? I'm dying to try to hatch some Dottes but don't want to waste my time & my AG broody's time either

I started testing my cockerel at 6 months for fertility. And now all five of the pullets are laying and I have a batch of eggs on day 7 that are fertile.
