This is a Golden Laced Wyandotte on the left, and a Partridge Wyandotte on the right, at two days old.

Actually, black chicks can be black with yellow or white down. Some may even have some juvenile feathers. Then they are solid black as they mature. So if some are part black and part white/yellow, don't get worried.

Here are some Black and Blue Orpington chicks as an example.

I just got 5 BLRW this week and they are so pretty. Here is a picture of the rooster. Not the best pic but he would not stay still very long.

he might be blue laced, but he's definitely not red... more gold. blue laced reds, the red is DARK...
here's my guy...and yeah he's got a funky comb... but he's the only one i have, so hoping the hen passes that trait on to the chicks.

and my bantam, s'mee. not as dark as i'd like, but he's a start too...

This is the best I can do he is not a fan of us quiet yet and we bright him in to take the pic. My son had to hold him and he kept fighting to get free.
 
I guess he looks a little golden in pictures and in real life his top feathers are golden but his under feathers look more red. The hens really look red.
