The Wyandotte Thread

HEY, just wondering if i should get some chicks this spring.. hoping for about 5. I have read that this breed can be quite noisy. I plan to let them out to graze before dusk all the time as adults and i will give them lots to peck on. Is this a good and QUIETISH breed. Anybody that has had experience, please help me understand this breed more?

My roo is half GLW, he only crows for a reason, never just for the sake of hearing his own voice (which is quite lovely as rooster crows go, IMO).

Good because you ain't gonna stop me!

Hey there from edgewood, nm. After losing 10 chickens to my houdini dog and having to turn my chicken pen into fort Knox, I finally got my wyandottes. 2 silver laced and 2 golden laced. One is 4 yrs old and I rescued her from the stew pot. The lady said she was a super mom but she wasn't going to bred anymore so she gave her to me. I have a americana rooster named big Ben and he is a gentle giant but would rather have a wyandotte roo.
