Excuse my ignorance but what is a "pullet breeder"?

Some breeders have a pullet line and a cockerel line and don't cross the two. The pullet breeder line makes the best pullets but not so good cockerels. A cockerel line makes good cockerels and not pullets.

Oh ok you meant Foley is a pullet breeder ( I didn't know that btw) and I was thinking you said the cockerel you got is a pullet breeder and it's some special term. Lol.

I don't think you quite have it. The rooster isn't the best specimen per the sop but is better at producing pulleys that are better specimens per the sop. The way the standard is written 2 lines are needed. One to produce good females and one to produce good males. The best male mated to the best female will not produce good males and females.

Would like opinions on the comb of this splash rooster. 4 months old. He doesn't like to be photographed.

@gardengoats11 is correct in the explanation. Jerry was talking about trying a pullet and a cockerel breeder line in the SPW bantams when I bought my breeders a couple of years ago. It seems to make a huge difference in the birds. I have thought about it with a couple of breeds I have.

yeah i have yet to meet a bird that does like its pic taken ..lol.

.the comb looks like it sticks out pretty high ,almost like a single comb in that last pic..but the first pic looks like a regular rose comb .but then i dont have any wyandotte roo's...lets see what others think ..

i've noticed some strange looking combs in my wyandottes ..some are real bumpy and some look smoother
