I'd wondered about this, so thank you for posting!

I'll have to see how easy / time-consuming they are to crack, but otherwise I have a friend who raises rabbits, so perhaps he'd put them to good use.

I collect bags of leaves from town to use as bedding in the fall. sometimes there are acorns and they eat the small ones.The turkeys will beat on the big ones until they open.. then the chickens steal them.
