ThinMintTheChicken
Crowing
This is ThinMint! She is the most sassiest, wonderful, and amazing chicken I've ever known. She is separated from the other flocks because she doesn't really like other chickens and so I can feed her separately. Her hatchmate Biscotti got into our barn the other day and ThinMint totally declared war. Surprisingly, though, ThinMint didn't hate on Violet (our hen who raised ThinMint, Biscotti, and 3 other roosters). ThinMint also likes to beat up our turkey hen (Toffee), Ginger (EE hen who also lives in the barn for one reason: I can't keep her out since she flies through the barn stalls. Ginger likes to torment ThinMint by stealing bites of food), and Peep (Salmon favorelle hen from our original flock who randomly got paralyzed in one leg, ThinMint only goes in the room I have Peep in while looking for food, steals Peeps food, spills it everywhere, and then flies into a chicken feed bag or metal trash can-where we store feed- and feasts). ThinMint is 2 years old. Piccolo is the BCM and she is ThinMints genetic mother! Daddy Noodle is ThinMints father and that's where ThinMint gets the bantam size and Cochin build. You can't really see it in these pictures, but ThinMint does have some copper around her neck and head just like Piccolo. Flour is the wheaten Marans in the 2nd picture and she is also an original just like Peep, Daddy Noodle, Piccolo, and Violet. I don't have pictures of her atm, but ThinMints buddy is Popcorn, aka the only chicken she actually likes. Popcorn will clean ThinMints beard, muffs, and neck feathers after ThinMints done eating and it's super sweet. ThinMint can actually somehow groom her other feathers just fine though and LOVES DUSTBATHS. ThinMint also raised 6 ducklings last summer (100% hatch rate) and was a wonderful mother. ThinMint also loves oatmeal so much. She'll try to fly up onto me when I'm bringing it out to her. It's super easy for her to eat because it sticks to her beak (wet mash does to just not as well).
