Do you HAVE to keep Silkies dry? I really want one but Mom always says I cannot get them because they would get wet in my setup.

Mine get wet sometimes. I just treat them like normal chickens

I told her if it was wet and cold I would lock it up so it did not chill. If it was warm it would dry out and be fine.

I can post a picture later. The run is not waterproof. If it rain the chickens can get wet.

But I have to convince my parents to let me get them first, and in my parents eyes if you want new chickens you have to do research and show you're responsible enough before coming to them. Thats how I got my australorps.
