Hello,

I’ve been poking around this website for years. Finally made it official and became a member. I had a flock of chickens about 15 years ago, and another a couple of years ago, so I consider myself a newbie.

We went to a feed store that has some little peepers, and I thought it would be fun to just show my kids a little one really fast.

Big mistake!

My heart melted the moment one was in my hand.

So, I picked up a few. I couldn’t help it! The next time we were there, I picked up a few more; then a few more the time after that.

Now we have 15, but a several are roosters, so, we’ll probably have 13 in a short while after we’re absolutely certain.

My husband is currently building them a beautiful coop once they’re old enough. We specifically built it to size for six units of The Best Nest. No more dirty eggs for me!

Welcome to BYC!! Every time we went to Orscheln’s for feed, I’d see the chicks and die of happiness inside. Then sadness when I can’t hold them or take them home cause I have too many. Chickies are the best.
Fortunately I was lucky on my last batch because I chose the most female-looking ones. I was correct! All pullets!
