Since my last post, sad news my Rhode Island Red cross dispatched She had a bad prolapse plus infection and all advice here was that the kindest things was to dispatch her. I had to ask a friend to do this.

Queenie the first of my flock to lay, stopped laying about three months ago. At one stage I thought she was egg bound but no.
However I feel all is not well with her. She is very thin but seems to eat OK especially a little treat of potato. But she is very slow to leave the coop in the morning. She tends to stay apart from the others. She is very chatty and always liked to be stroked. But the last couple of days she does not want to be touched. She sometimes sits in the nest but does nothing. Any comments or advice wold be welcome

Welcome to BYC!

I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy to put them down.

As for Queenie, have you wormed her recently? If she is overly thin, she may have worms. But I would post this question in our emergency section for more help with her. Kelsie has left you with the link to that section of BYC.

I hope you can get her healed soon.
