I understand about feather sexing, and that you need the correct genes of fast and slow feathering in parents. (I can never remember exactly what you need to do it, but I have certainly got the principle of it)
My question is, I have noticed that a certain cross I have, has chicks that at around 5 weeks of age, the cockerels have a lot less feathering then the pullets. I was wondering if I have accidentally got feather sexable chicks i.e. would it also work at a few days old?
To clarify, is there a link between slow feathering at 5 weeks, and at a few days old?
