There are alot of chicken keeping ordinances but ......

Has anyone come across ordinances that forbid the keeping of quail? I have not done much research in this area so I am curious if those of you who have can answer this question.

In my city there is a livestock ordinance. It does not limit the amount of type of livestock but mentions that any excess noise could be cause for concern. Depending on how you plan to house the quail. I doubt anyone would ever know. Look it over to be sure but I wouldn't go trying to find something if it isn't stated clearly.

If the ordinance says anything about Fowl, quail falls into that. Ours list poultry and fowl.

It depends on where you live. Some places won't let you keep native species, or require a permit for that. Some require a permit for sale but not for keeping, some require a permit for larger numbers. Some neighborhoods don't allow poultry at all.
