BYC in a nutshell.
A Red Hat. That's pretty cool. I still use Fedora. On version 40 right now, and I've switched to Rocky Linux for my website. No, because I have one of these. I'm not sure if you understand the significance today, but when I got mine, it meant membership in a very exclusive community. One that didn't do Ubuntu.

They were given to RedHat Employees after they finished orientation. You couldn't get one unless you worked for RH. That fedora was like a linux version of a world series ring at one point. I did 2 years as a field engineer and an instructor. Was a great gig, and the only job I've ever had where I wasn't always one of the smartest people in the room. It's incredibly liberating to be a small fish in a big pond when you're used to being among the biggest fish in the pond. It's hard to explain until you've experienced it, but I loved to just sponge up the knowledge of people around me about concepts I only had the smallest fraction of understanding about. The curse of a lifelong learner, I suppose.A Red Hat. That's pretty cool. I still use Fedora. On version 40 right now, and I've switched to Rocky Linux for my website.

Anyway, yeah, that's my employee fedora, and it's a memento of a time long gone.
