They were given to RedHat Employees after they finished orientation. You couldn't get one unless you worked for RH. That fedora was like a linux version of a world series ring at one point. I did 2 years as a field engineer and an instructor. Was a great gig, and the only job I've ever had where I wasn't always one of the smartest people in the room. It's incredibly liberating to be a small fish in a big pond when you're used to being among the biggest fish in the pond. It's hard to explain until you've experienced it, but I loved to just sponge up the knowledge of people around me about concepts I only had the smallest fraction of understanding about. The curse of a lifelong learner, I suppose.

Anyway, yeah, that's my employee fedora, and it's a memento of a time long gone.
