There's a turkey in my yard

When we first saw it, its neck seemed longer, and it is pecking and strutting around like a chicken/turkey. I guess I will wait a couple of days, and see if it changes more. Should I feed It? I do not want to put it back over the fence, until the construction is finished( unless it goes by itself).

BTW, a snipe has a longer beak!

Hubby informed me that I don't have to feed it, cuz it is eating his raspberries:D. Guess I'll set out some water somehow. Thanks for all of your ideas. If I find out what it is, I'll let you know.

There are still the 2 eggs. If this thing laid them, she isn't sitting on them, and they are not together. They look like medium/large chicken eggs.

Close off your holes in your yard. You've got yourself a very, very nice looking, invasive, bird.
If you were to let it free, you could get in trouble!
Keep it and stay on this forums with us and get some chickens too!

Oh gee, I thought it was one of my narri turkey pair that went off with the wild ones. I can wish, lol!!! And I have NO idea what the bird is.

For a guess....a woodcock?

Oh yeah, still here. The weather is cool and drizzly. It was sitting atop my potato mound, puffed up like a little soccer ball. Other than that, just strutting around, pecking at the ground, and the raspberry bushes.

Neighbor suggested a Guinea hen? I just do not know! I'll have to see if I can get a pic of the egg, next to a ruler.

Crait, what do you mean, get in trouble??
