Thermometer Indoor/Outdoor temps

Which temperature do I use? They vary several degrees on both my digital ones?

Did you put the whole thing in the incubator? Mine has a probe, so I thought that I was supposed to just put that part in. I have since learned otherwise, but still don't know which temp to use. Watching this thread!

I tried both and even through putting the entire thing in takes up quite a bit of room, I like it because I think the humidity gauge doesnt work without it. Do I average the two? I am using a still air Hovabator btw.
