Thermometer issues...which right which wrong??

Thanks. I sure hope that this accurite thermometer and hygrometer is right. The one that came with the bator seems off to me, it measures too high. I have one little pip tonight and it is officially, as of tonight, day 20. I also could swear I heard a cheep cheep from the bator, but it may be wishful thinking. How can the make a sound that can be heard from inside the shell before evening opening it. Is that possible? Thanks.

I got the Little Giant Incubator set up last night, and still can't get the temp and humidity right. The little thermometer on the plastic sheet reads 99.5 but the thermometer on the hygrometer/thermometer reads 100+. Do you think that putting a regular mercury thermometer in the incubator would be the tie-breaker?
Also, when you add water to the incubator, how are you doing it without losing heat and humidity?
I'm getting my eggs tomorrow, Wednesday, May 8, so I'm a little under the gun to find out this stuff.
