Hello all. Got my brooders going. Chicks seem fine. I bought 2 TSC glass thermometers to hang in the tanks. They read 60°-70° which is obviously too cold for chicks. I used 2 digital thermometers to check both sides of brooder. One read 111.4° under lamp, and 72° on non heated side. The other tank was 100.1° under lamp and 66° on other side. What are your thoughts on why the glass thermometers would be SOOO off compares to digital. The glass ones are hanging about 1.5ft below lamps in direct heat. So the bottom of the thermometer is at around head/body height of the birds.
