it'll be fine inside a bator but you should check to see how accurate it is for temp and humidity.
for temp, buy or make a water wiggler, use the outside temp probe inside the wiggler and check this against a medical thermometer, make sure you have at least 2-3 cm of the medical thermometer inside the wiggler...they are contact thermometers and don't do air temp accurately.
to calibrate/test the hygro do a search on here for "calibrate hygro" and look for a post describing a test where you mix up salt and put it in a plastic bag. it's been gone over so many times before...
if either temp or humidity is out by much you can still use it as long as you remember to add or subtract the right amount from what you're reading.
