These 2 handsome (?) guys.

Unfortunately, this morning I found 2 dead chicks after a mysterious predator made them a late night snack. 1 of them was my most favorite, the Frizzle guy we named Liberace. There is a crazy amount of guilt I feel and I’m aware of all the rational thoughts behind something like this. It still doesn’t help me feel any better. Boy… talk about a weird type of heartache. I’m so sad today. I’ll learn things and implement them in hopes of preventing this in the future. RIP Liberace and Quatro. DD2B9A66-D629-4925-9424-2C81609BECAD.png

Sorry! It happens, so many amazing chicken owners have lost chickens due to predators. Just take this as a reminder for better security!

Update on my dark cornish bantam pullet!
she laid her first egg, she’s the first of the new bunch to lay (DOB 3/29; 13 weeks on Monday) and they’re little! Blue and little! Google results say dark cornish bantam lay brown eggs… i seem to have something wrong! Maybe she’s not that breed 🤷🏻‍♀️ D6BE274B-279E-41D9-AA1E-669531EA0689.jpeg

Just saw your post about the loss of your chicks, I’m so sorry to hear this. 😞Congratulations though on your new layer. Doubtful this is her, is there any way it can be another of your birds? 13 weeks is also incredibly young to start laying even production birds don’t start laying until 16 to 18 weeks.😊
