Just wanted to send good vibes your way. I quit cold turkey 8 years ago in May when I got pg with our 2nd child. It was hard, but it's sooo worth it!

I had a thought...go to the movies. You can't smoke in there. I always find it easy not to want a smoke when I am in public places that restrict it like church, movies, library, department stores, the mall. You get the idea. Spend a few days out and about and the next thing you know it will be a thing of the past.

I am very proud of you for making it this far and I know you can keep going. Don't give up. Just keep thinkin about all those chickens I mentioned earlier.

Good luck to you.
It has been 9 years since I quit smoking. And believe me if I could do it, you can. I had smoked ever since I was about 13, my parents both smoked so I would take cigarettes from their packs. As I got older I would smoke a pack to a pack and a half a day. If I ran out, I would do everything in my power to go to the store and buy more. I would be miserable without them. Now I have not smoked in so long,it is great! You can do it. I never thought I would quit, and everyone else never thought I could do it.

YOU CAN DO IT!

gonzo&hispeeps :

Well, I woke up all sad and stuff, my DH said it was a side effect of the patch. IDK... I'm not depressed though! I did however take a hit off a cigarette! And got deathly, deathly sick! I guess thats a good thing? I can still taste it. Its strong, and gross!

So, I put the patch back on, and here I am! I don't have any cravings right now, but I will... Especially after I eat! I'll have to get more gum handy. I think I can beat this!

Don't think you can beat it
Say I know I can beat this!!!!

As far as you hitting one it is bound to happen I'm glad you got sick (not to be mean or anything)but that is your bodies way of telling you that you don't need to smoke.
The brain and body do weird things when you quit that is why you wake up sad and stuff but your not depressed, as for the gum like I said before Wal-Mart sells a big 160some odd peice's of gum in a bucket like an ice cream bucket plus they also sell it in bags it is Double bubble and I will tell you them buckets are great for your Hubby's shop or to hold change in, gathering eggs, I use them all over the house here I have so many of them lol.
Don't think the habit of reaching for a smoke after you eat or anything will go away anytime soon, it has been a year and I still reach for one but now I just grab some gum and start chewing it.
I told the Doctor I need a quit chewing gum program now that I stopped smoking

I am glad to see you are sticking to your guns way to go we are proud of you.

ETA:You wanna get the house clean of nicotine and everything so you will not smell the smokey smell in the house that will also cause you to want a smoke, all you do is wash all the walls and ceiling's in the house this goes for anyone wanna see what your lungs look like after years of smoking wash down your walls the brown stuff that will be creeping down your walls well that is nicotine that is what your putting into your lungs and the lungs of your children by smoking I didn't notice how nasty my walls were from smoking till I washed them down and seen it rolling down the walls now my house smells so much cleaner and the walls are so much brighter.......give it shot on a nice warm day open the windows up and wash down one wall at a time change water often you will see why.

my youngest daughter gave this printed out several years ago and i hung it on my refrigerator. i just took it down last month. it helped me to read that everyday. especially the last sentence - just one cigarette will undue all of it.
