These three --- it's Ruthie's Fault

Apparently I have a new daily chore - hosing down the deck cuz Ruthie got Barbe and Ed in on his "stormin' the big house" plan. He's so determined. Look at how he's trying to get his head behind the slider! And you can practically hear his raspy "braaaaaaaaaap" just looking at the pic.

Ed is clearly on a mission! But, isn't it nice he has backup? He clearly has leadership skills.

I feel your pain.

I have a glass door on my deck, but I have to leave the inside wooden door closed or a flock of crappin' chickens is pressed against the glass waiting for me to deliver grapes to their hungry beaks.

Lately, Quinn, the runner duck queen, has discovered that she, too, can come up the stairs, though not gracefully.

Yup, poop happens -- right outside the door. Happy hosing!

We fenced in the part of our yard to be the duck yard because they have ripped up all my grass and pooped all over my nice patio. But they get so BORED in there and then I let them out into the big yard anyway. What's a girl to do? My ducks aren't super friendly but sometimes they stand right outside the back door. Once or twice I have opened the door just to see if they would come in. Nothing yet.

The chickens stand at the back door, the geese actually "knock" on the glass. The first time I heard it, I freaked out a bit because I knew no one had come up the driveway.

The ducks, led by Queen Quinn, have not ventured in yet, but I'm sure they would if I held the door open. I have to release them last in the mornings because Quinn, especially, likes to walk into all the other coops to see what everyone else is having for breakfast and invites herself to share their meal.
