Our chicks finally made it. Golden comets, Dark Brahmas, Barred rocks and Easter Eggers. Been a long wait but probably a good thing because this coop has taken longer than expected. Just have to put the roof on the run. First time with chickens. Any last minute advice is welcome

Do they have brooder lamps there to little for no warmth. Keep them in a confined space until they start getting feathers in.

Yes, they are in the garage with a heat lamp right now. We are using a watermelon box. They are definitely funny to watch.

Dark Brahmas!

With my in-town flock my Dark Brahma, Noodle, was my friendliest hen and a broody so determined that she managed to hide an egg and hatch it even though I collected them daily.

Thanks! I hope it serves them well. Funny thing is we have lived here for five years and have had the chicks for 2 days. I was looking out the window this morning and see a weasel run through the yard. Never seen one out here before.

Ok that coop looks great for when there older. I usually put them out for an hour at a time when they start gettingv feathers in

Make sure you keep a close eye on them. This is their most vulnerable stage.
