They all ran away!!

So my chickens first started coming out of their coope into the fenced yard I built for them about two weeks ago. I had 12 chickens this afternoon, but when I went to check on them tonight they were all gone! Any suggestions? Will they come back? my family and I are very upset!

Chances are that they, or at least most of them, will be around in the morning. You didn't say how old they are, which could make a difference, but after 2 weeks, they should be around somewhere. Be sure to let us know tomorrow...........Pop

Chicken sometimes roost in trees. They know where their food is, so it is a good possibility they will return. Also, if you got them all at the same time they typically stay in a group. Hope this helps. Good luck!

This happened to me once. Don't worry, they will come back when they are hungry!

My chickens got spooked by a dog that go into the garden and they all flew off in all directions. They were so freaked out that they totally disappeared all day. At night ONE our of the 12 came back but when I got near her she flew off again.

Over the next few days they started coming back a few at a time. Most were back after 3 days, but one took 6 days to return.

I think that maybe something frightened your birds. When they come back keep a sharp look out for any predators in the area.

Hope you hens all come back quickly. I know how upsetting it feels!!!!
