What to do after a predator attack

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but do you have a dog? I was thinking maybe at night if a dog was going around your property they would be less likely to attack?

I had a similar issue lost 2 chickens in a 2 week span thinking a weasel as it attack the back of the necks at the base of the head almost like it was sucking the blood out of them then my neighbor across the road lost 4 in 1 night I quit loosing any because I put have a hart traps on both side of that pen. My neighbor ended up losing every chicken about 10 and I walked out later in the evening for chores to see a skunk running across my next door neighbors yard. Saw him again the next morning coming back to the newborn shed long story short I sat out side that night and killed it with my pellet rifle from a safe distance of course. Sorry to hear about this and it may take hours or days of hunting it but I would set up a game camera to find out what it may be and what time it's coming i hope you can stop it.. also welded wire 1x2 inch is really strong but expensive hope this can help

You can try moving things around if possible , like you say they watch and pattern our behavior for days sometimes before they move and if they can’t get you patterned that will help . invest in a live trap set with a piece of fried chicken.
Or get a friend who hunts ,Maybe he can find the den and get rid of them.Having a coop in the middle of a 'wilderness' is inviting to predators.
