well I think she got the point cause right after she did it her head was rubbed in the one she opened up and the innards were hanging out... and she was brought to every corpse and told she was bad... she was then brought in the house and in her crate.. I cam back in 2 hours later and brought her on a leash to go pee and she did her pee and when i went to bring her back in she did a scared pee on the floor... and just now i went to go to the coop to close the chickens and she was on her leash and she would not go near the coop she dug her little doggy heals in and would not move... so she knows she did wrong... and she will also not come to me tonight she is sucking up to DH

I'm terribly sorry. There is a saying around our neighborhood that we have had to use too often when it comes to pocket pets and cats, and chickens and dogs "It is really hard when someone you love, kills someone you love." I am terribly sorry for you loss. It sounds like she really understands that it was a bad thing to do and I hope you can forgive (but not really trust) her.

I'm so sorry! The saying it's hard when someone you love kills someone you love really applies here. Even if you don't blame the dog, you can't help but feel differently towards them after a tragedy like this.

Ugh. So Sorry about your chickens. My dog is the reason why I decided not to free range ours and to start with the chicken tractor. At least I feel like they have some protection.

One got out when they were only about 6 weeks old and I *think* my dog got it. I just found it dead and wet/chewed on behind the coop.

Oh, Dear...I'm heartbroken for you. The babies are gone and a trusted friend did it. Two tragedies for you. I'm so sorry.

very good point. In my case true. My boxer will not harm a thing while I am around. But when she thinks no one is looking if there is a bird anywhere insight she all up on it. My lab has less interest in the birds than she does. Once they get a taste they don't stop. I don't care what anyone says. Dogs are predators and birds are prey. I would never ever trust any dog alone with birds. Unfortunately Lady (my boxer) has proven that for me.
