Hi, Woke up this morning to find two little ones in the incubator well actually one from last night and the other was zipping like crazy so I got to watch it make its grand entrance, I had started with 20 eggs, well one had had a blood ring so I culled it, then 9 were not fertile. So that left with 10 that all were full and moving on thurs when they went into lock down, so today should be a fun day. The grandson who is 2 is coming today to spend the week with us so he should have a blast.
These are a cross with RR hens and a Dominque Rooster , someone said that they were sex links, so how can I tell if they are Hens or Roosters?
Thanks Ken from Maine

I'm not sure how to tell the sex of the offspring, but congratulations! Your grandson will have a ball.

I think you'll have to wait until they get bigger. I knew right off one of mine was male because, seriously, the way he acted!! When he got a few weeks older, he had a bigger comb and was getting those wattles under his chin. Of course, sometimes you only know when they start to crow. I also was told you can tell by thier tails. I think females point up and males down, or vice versa. Anyone know for sure? Im still a newbie.

P.S. Congratulations!!!
