They are HERE - Baby Ducklings with pic's!

I can't stand all this cuteness! I ordered my first ducklings last night, they'll be here at the end of July.

That's so mean...but so cute.

I ordered 4 khaki campbells, 3 mallards, and 3 cayugas. More than I wanted, but I couldn't stand to wait any longer.

OH! cayugas are my favorite!!!!! My, duckling is what the Mallards will look like. Khakis are egg laying machines

I have a Q -

Knowing how messy ducks are and how much they poop - do you have a bunch of extra rugs and do you throw them out when they are soiled?

Oh, those little duckies. They are the only animal cuter than its own cartoon version! I feel like a just ate a five pound bag of sugar.

They did great overnight - I use a ceramic heat lamp so as it got dark they all piled into their box and went to sleep - feet sticking up and all

I am going to switch bed boxes out today, put in a new box with shavings.
On the outside of their little bed box, within the brooder I have (LOL) placemats, I found them in the bottom of the linen closet - they're a bumpy rubbery stuff... I put a few towels in there around the edges and such..... to catch water or ? I have a TON of little hand towels... so will switch them out - I'll take them outside, hose them and hang them over the deck to dry.... then re-use.

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW they are way to cute for words. I got some scovie eggs in the bator right now. Why does it take so darn long to incubate them. geesh 35 days of starting at the bator now that i have a turner
