I have been reading this board for a few weeks.
My 27? they did say something about an extra chick <G> I will need to count again. Made it SAFE and sound.
EVERYONE is alive and seems to be doing well. Drinking well!
PO called me at 4:40 this morning and said we have your chicks!
I dashed out, raced them home (just 2 miles) and was so happy that everyone seems to have made it!
I did get a free "rare" chick and I don't know what "he" is - I figure "he" is a He <G>
He has feathered feet! I am pretty sure I have figured everyone else out <G> but I will post pictures a bit later.

Chicks came from Murray McMurray and I live south of Portland OR.

-- Another update. With in an hour of having the chicks I knew that at least one of the Black stars was much weaker than the rest. Sadly she died in the last hour (6 hours after having them home) - I'm still grateful that the rest seem to be doing so well.

yes I'm getting there,
I was just glad they didn't get here any sooner, I'm getting over a bout of food poisoning. And the last 12 hours were brutal!
I think everyone is doing well, The black stars are very small, and one seems much weaker but I think we are doing okay. Everyone else seems VERY sturdy.

Still working out brooder temp, had it stable until I turned on the house furnace. I figure they can move around <G>
if under the light it is too warm.

I am willing to bet that bonus chick is a "silver pencil cochin",

don't know if that color comes in standard size but I have some bantams and that's exactly what they look like.
