Yay! We put the "babies" outside in their coop/run last weekend. We've been "putting them to bed" every evening, shutting them in the coop at dusk. This evening, I waited just a hair longer than usual to tuck them in, and lo and behold, they were already in the coop, waiting for me to say "Night-night"! Who says chickens aren't smart? Of course, they were probably tired after running around after bugs and dandelion fluff all day...

We've had our babies just over a day. My 7 year old son is going out before I get him ready for bed and picking each one up and placing them in the coop. Only the two big girls have the roost concept. The smaller ones are huddling in a nest box.

Isn't it exciting! I just put my babies outside yesterday in their temporary coop till the walls on the coop are put up. They all seemed to know what to do...proud of my smart little babies.
